Young Growers Alliance Visit a Success

The Young Growers Alliance's visit to the Appalachian Fruit Research Station (AFRS) was a huge success. There were over 40 young or new growers who were able to learn about the large diversity of research aimed at improving US agriculture at AFRS. This included the development of new rotating trellises for blackberries, but also improved breeding practices for specific tree architectures. Pictured above: Brent Short, a technician at the entomology group at AFRS, presented the work being done on attract-and-kill technology, as well as monitoring methods for brown marmorated stink bug.
